Rapid, oscillatory movement, either mechanical or in sound waves. It can be a physical phenomenon, like the shaking of an object, or a sensation, like the feeling of buzzing in the body.

In physics, vibration is defined as:

  • Periodic motion: A back-and-forth movement around a stable position.

  • Oscillation: A repeated movement that oscillates between extremes.

  • Frequency: The number of vibrations (cycles) per second, measured in Hertz (Hz).

  • Amplitude: The maximum displacement of a vibrating object from its equilibrium position.
